Curriculum Consulting and Writing

 

I have developed scores of curricula for pre-K-8th grade that teach students health and wellness (self-nourishment and, ultimately, self-care) through a heightened awareness of food and its properties via cooking. Some, like my Food Science series, specifically hone science skills (in biology, botany, chemistry and physics), while others, like The Art of Cooking refine art skills (using different media, working with composition, materials and color). All apply basic math skills (including measurement, fractions, addition, subtraction and multiplication). I work with administrators, developing new curricula and materials (including recipes, worksheets, stories) and teaching them best-practice logistics of working with food and cooking in the classroom or lab.
